Cut Shop Supervisor (Manufacturing)



Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Management: Lead and inspire cut shop staff, fostering a supportive and safe team environment rooted in our Community and Team values. Manage scheduling, conduct performance evaluations, and resolve conflicts with respect and humility.
  • Time Approval: Review and approve weekly employee hours with Integrity, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Weekly Reporting: Generate and submit detailed weekly reports on materials cut, including quantities and types of steel, reflecting our Commitment to transparency and quality.
  • Steel Projection: Accurately calculate steel sheet requirements for projects, providing reliable projections to support efficient planning and resource use, aligning with our Commitment to innovation.
  • Steel Inventory Tracking: Maintain precise inventory records to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize waste, demonstrating Integrity in resource management.
  • Collaboration with Purchasing: Work closely with the purchasing department to secure timely steel supplies, building trust and embodying our Community value through strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Steel Issuance Calculation: Determine precise steel requirements for each program and job, optimizing resource use with a forward-thinking mindset.
  • Purchasing for Cut Shop: Manage procurement of essential cut shop supplies, including repair parts, with a focus on quality and Commitment to operational excellence.
  • Programming for Cut Table: Program the cut table for accurate and efficient operations, serving as a backup programmer to ensure continuity, reflecting our Team value in supporting one another.

 Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with a track record of leading with Integrity and Team spirit.
  • Strong knowledge of steel types, cutting processes, and inventory management, showcasing Commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in programming cut tables and related software, with a forward-thinking approach to innovation.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, reflecting our Commitment to efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, embodying our Community value.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and team coordination, fostering trust and respect.
  • Deep understanding of workplace safety standards, ensuring a safe environment in line with our Commitment to employee well-being.

 Preferred Skills

  • Experience with inventory management software, enhancing our Commitment to precision.
  • Technical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining cut shop equipment, supporting operational excellence.

 Work Environment

  • Full-time role in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting where our core values of Community, Integrity, Team, and Commitment drive our Montana way of life and TowHaul Tough spirit.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however can be severe and caution shall be executed with the use of PPE as required.
