Department Manager

As a Plastipak Department Manager, you will direct and coordinate activities of production lines in processing materials or manufacturing products in an industrial organization.  You'll join our team of collaborative associates focused on safety and producing the best quality packaging in the industry.

You Will

  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.
  • Working with site schedulers, plans production schedules, establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  •  Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develop or revises work instructions, working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production data from PICS (SAP).
  • Maintaining a high level of motivation in the Cell, Housekeeping and safety
  • Ensures that the Site Quality Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times.
  • Must be able to build a strong working relationship with customers.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Initiate action for food safety issues.

You Have

  • A (B.A. or B.S.) in Industrial Technology or related field, with emphasis on plastics and / or related experience.
  • Team oriented.
  • Self - Motivation and flexibility of job assignments.
  • Blend of technical, interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to build a strong working relationship with customers
