Sr Business Analyst, Distributed Cloud Services (Information Technology)

F5 Distributed Cloud Services are SaaS-based security, networking, and application management services that enable customers to deploy, secure, and operate their applications in a cloud-native environment wherever needed–data center, multi-cloud, or the network or enterprise edge.

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to partner with our VP, Cloud Product Management to lead cost management efforts and enhance operational efficiency for our SaaS offerings. This role is focused on optimizing the financial elements of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for our Distributed Cloud platform while supporting data-driven decision-making, strategic alignment, and program management to drive cost-effectiveness, scalability, and reliability within our SaaS platform.

The ideal candidate will apply advanced expertise in quantitative analysis, operational processes, and project management to deliver impactful insights, recommendations, and solutions. They will drive the adoption of data-driven practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and promote a culture of analytics to improve business decision-making.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Perform comprehensive financial modeling and forecasting of SaaS Gross Margin & Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), supporting quarterly reporting, annual planning, and variance analysis to drive business decisions.

  • Operational Process Improvement: Analyze and optimize complex business workflows to address cost inefficiencies, scalability challenges, and alignment with SaaS COGS reduction strategies.

  • Data Reporting & Visualization: Design, automate, and maintain dashboards and tools to monitor critical key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to cost metrics, reliability, and operational performance.

  • Data Integrity & Accessibility: Lead initiatives to standardize, improve, and ensure the quality and accessibility of data across operational and financial systems.

  • Innovative Problem Solving: Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership to develop strategies for cost efficiency and recovery mechanisms.

  • Program Management Support: Collaborate on project planning and execution, driving stakeholder communication, risk tracking, and timely delivery of critical objectives.

  • Executive Materials Creation: Develop high-quality materials for leadership reviews, strategic planning meetings, and financial performance updates, providing clear, actionable insights.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Finance, Product Management, and Engineering to define priorities, align on business goals, and deliver cohesive solutions.

  • Operational Optimization: Continuously monitor and refine the quality and efficiency of operational data and reporting systems to minimize inefficiencies and streamline processes.

  • Promoting Analytics Culture: Foster a data-driven culture by advocating for advanced analytics techniques and tools, helping transform data into strategic innovations and actionable outcomes.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in data analytics, financial modeling, and visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and SQL.

  • SaaS Business Acumen: Strong understanding of SaaS business models, COGS structures, subscription KPIs, and operational cost frameworks.

  • Data Quality & Governance: Proven experience in defining and implementing robust data governance policies to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous challenges and generate actionable insights that guide measurable improvements.

  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional workflows and delivering impactful results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • Exceptional Communication: Skilled in translating complex data findings into concise, meaningful recommendations that influence stakeholders across varying levels.

  • Independent Execution: Adept at leading and completing high-stakes assignments with minimal supervision, driving innovation and measurable outcomes.

 

Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, financial modeling, or operations within a SaaS, cloud, or technology-focused discipline.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Additional experience in complex program or project management is a plus.

The annual base pay for this position is: $118,200.00 - $177,200.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5's differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
