Job Description
PURPOSE SUMMARY. Under the supervision of the Chief Planner - Current Planning, perform a variety of manual tasks involved in the cleanup and removal of illegally dumped materials, graffiti, and other cleanup projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Other duties may be assigned. Assist in weekend clean-up events and special projects, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS.
Education. High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience. A minimum of six (6) months experience performing general labor duties, working with various hand tools, painting, and loading/unloading materials. Must be experienced in operating large trucks and in pulling trailers. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred to communicate effectively with clientele.
Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with County policy.
Licenses/Certifications. Valid Driver's License. Must maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with County policy.
Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph, background check, driver's license record, etc.). Must pass a background and driver's license record check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
Must have knowledge of : Various equipment, materials, methods, hazards and safety practices associated with illegal dumping and graffiti clean-ups; safe lifting and carrying practices; and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Must have skills to : Operate simple equipment, or equipment that operates repetitively and requires some previous training or experience; perform manual labor and operate general tools and equipment related to property clean-ups.
Must have the ability to : Communicate orally and in written form: use computer equipment and software including email and to create basic letters and reports; safely drive a one-ton truck with dump trailer and associated county equipment; maneuver vehicles with trailers; use a variety of hand tools; effectively communicate with a diverse cultural community; and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.
Compensation Range
$15.00 - $19.05
