- BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a related engineering function.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Continuous Improvement, Waste Elimination and Kaizen.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, (5 Why, Trucker's Log, A3 Thinking), community, interpersonal, organization and negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership skills that create an engaged employee environment.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and employees.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience with CAD.
- Ability to analyze time studies to set labor standards, mechanical ability that would allow the search for new and better equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to the manufacturing areas.
- Experience in the investment casting industry.
- Good financial literacy.

Job Responsibilities:
The position is dedicated to the technical leadership of the automation team, providing technical support of manufacturing focused on providing a consistent product that meets customer specifications with additional responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Lead and mentor an automation team, including automation technicians and design engineers
- Set priorities in alignment with production, quality, and business goals.
- Develop and program PLCs, robotics, and motion control systems for automated manufacturing cells.
- Design precision tooling, fixtures, and end-of-arm tooling using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX).
- Lead or participate in automation projects from concept through commissioning and support.
- Optimize equipment cycle times, reliability, and repeatability for production environments.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation and tooling issues in production.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve downtime and quality issues.
- Identify and implement new technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing for cores/tooling, AI in process monitoring).
- Evaluate equipment upgrades and automation opportunities to improve process control and efficiency.
