CDL Driver - JWB (Transportation)
Job Summary:
We are seeking applicants that have experience in driving and operating a Water Truck with a manual transmission.
The Commercial Driver possesses a CDL (Class A) to specifically drive/operate various types of fleet trucks. Our drivers operate and maintain all aspects associated with the fleet trucks. To be considered you MUST have previous experience Driving and Operating a Water Truck, Dump Truck: 10 wheelers, truck and pups, truck and transfer, end dumps, bottom dumps, low bed trailers, in order to pick up and delivery of materials.
Essential functions:
All work takes place outside on public and private roads, jobsites, through all weather conditions.
Completely and accurately fill out daily paperwork.
Have good judgement regarding site, terrain, and weather conditions for safe equipment operation.
Other tasks may include assisting with other operations at the job site such as maintenance of other equipment.
Perform multiple inspections throughout the day on equipment to check and maintain proper fluid levels, performance of the equipment, etc., using the company checklist as a guideline.
Reports equipment needs and hazards to supervisor.
Continuously conducts safety checks on the equipment (seat belt, fire extinguisher, lights, etc.) to ensure equipment is working properly and safely.
Survey, evaluate and take measures to ensure work area is safe from any dangers (powerlines, utilities, co-workers, etc.)
Inspect all attachments to the machinery to ensure that they are operational and take the appropriate steps to correct.
Maintains good housekeeping on equipment.
Chainsaw experience is a requirement.
Operates a chainsaw when needed.
Travel and work overtime when required.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
All work is performed outside in all types of various weather (i.e. heat, cold, wind, sun and inclement weather, etc.)
Exposure to all types of terrain.
Exposure to all elements of nature on a regular basis.
Exposure to loud noise.
Exposure to fumes, odors, gases, dusts, etc.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, and truck vibration.
Physical Demands:
Must have excellent visual and auditory physical capabilities to manage sight and sounds in hazardous forestry and construction environments.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to remain alert and cognitive of multiple concurrent activities at the project site, including awareness of other employees, subcontractors, machinery, equipment, and moving traffic when applicable.
Coordination between hands, eyes, and feet to guide equipment and objects is required.
Must be able to push, pull, climb, sit, and stretch regularly and repetitively while performing the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to work around loud noises.
Must be able to mount and dismount safely off vehicles and equipment, including entering and exiting the vehicle's cab multiple times a day.
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Must be able to work overtime as requested.
Must be able to walk on uneven terrain.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions.
Must be able to remain alert while driving for an aggregate period of up to 12 hours (intrastate).
Must be able to perform tasks such as shifting a manual transmission and operating foot pedals.
Must be able to spend at least 85% of the day sitting and 15% of the day walking on various surfaces.
Must be able to perform bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, reaching (including above shoulders), pulling, pushing, and balancing.
Travel Required:
Position travels inside the local area, may occasionally travel within Northern California.
Required Education and Experience:
Operating a Dump Truck or Heavy-Duty trucks with manual transmission: 2-3 years
Driving Log Truck or Transfer Truck: 2-5 years
Preferred Education and Experience:
High School education or equivalent.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Must have a valid class A license.
Must be able to drive standard transmission.
Must have a current medical certificate.
Must provide a clean driving record: 5 years (Required)
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Other Duties:
Operators and Drivers are responsible for the proper maintenance and care of equipment and vehicles, ensuring it remains in optimal condition for efficient operation. They are expected to conduct routine inspections, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and promptly report any issues to management. Additionally, operators must operate machinery and drive various heavy commercial vehicles with caution and expertise to minimize the risk of damage and ensure longevity of equipment and vehicles.
