Lead, Shipper/Materials Handler (Onsite) (Finance)



Position Overview:

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods. This position also ensures shipment transactions are promptly entered into ERP System in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures and following through on all material movements in order to guarantee they are handled in accordance with applicable FDA and cGMP procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring the warehouse has proper workflow to meet the demand.

During the Plant start-up this position will work during the core business hours. Business needs may necessitate the need to adjust shift start and end times.

Responsibilities:

  • Train new shipping team members.
  • Ship material between facilities via the company box truck.
  • Assist senior manager regarding shipping concerns and discrepancy.
  • Attend weekly meetings and be able to provide updates of shipments.
  • Lead international shipment coordinator.
  • Assist with shipment of scrap barrels.
  • Assist with shipment of damaged and unusable pallets.
  • Contact Freight Forwarders to set up weekly International Container shipments.
  • Gathers, verifies, and palletize items for shipment according to specification.
  • Load and coordinate shipment of finished goods for sterilization.
  • Records shipped items according to established procedures.
  • Assist with Return of Materials shipment to the supplier and transact in MRP system.
  • Assist with shipment of all SWO/RSWO.
  • Coordinate empty tray shipment to the supplier.
  • Coordinate international Raw Material shipment.
  • Be able to make intercompany transfers in AX and SAP MRP.
  • Be able to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely.
  • Manage safety requirements to minimize safety risks.
  • Communicate with freight carriers regarding all shipments required paperwork.
  • Perform general duties including FedEx processing, cycle count, housekeeping stocking, safety, and maintenance.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a functioning, clean and orderly condition.
  • Be able to drive a box truck.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED and/or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Shipping/warehouse operator role with working knowledge of a warehouse environment.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • ASAP software experience a plus.
  • DOT medical Card
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/AX Software or ability to learn Microsoft AX Materials Management module.
  • Proficient in business environment software applications - MS Office
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Distribution, Receiving, or Manufacturing Support environment.
  • Must be extremely service, internal customer, and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Highly motivated, proactive problem solver, and a self-starter that can work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Stand up and sit-down forklift operation experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ergonomic lifting techniques.
  • Good communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Medical device industry experience a plus.
  • Self-starter capable of dealing with a variety of tasks in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Must be proficient in English language to be able to read documentation, communicate, and write.
  • Keen eye for quality, is dependable, and will work collaboratively within a team, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Experience in a start-up production environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

  • Must be able to lift and transfer loads up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely operate electric and manual pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to stand and bend up to 8 hours a day.
  • Required to lift above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $26.00 - $38.75. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
