What You'll Do Every shift brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. Your key responsibilities will include: · Operate, maintain, and repair piping systems, pumps, valves, and plumbing fixtures throughout the central utility plant and associated facilities. · Monitor and control plant systems, including steam, chilled water, hot water, compressed air, and domestic water distribution, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety and environmental standards. · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, and related controls as required. · Diagnose issues, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize reliability. · Read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications to ensure proper installation and repair procedures. · Collaborate closely with engineers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and building staff to coordinate repairs, shutdowns, and upgrades with minimal disruptions. · Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections, parts used, and equipment readings in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. · Participate in plant rounds, monitoring system pressures, temperatures, flows, and chemical levels, and adjust equipment as needed to maintain safe and efficient operation. · Assist with inventory management of piping, plumbing supplies, tools, and safety equipment to support uninterrupted plant operations. · Respond to emergency situations, such as leaks, floods, and system failures, with a calm, problem-solving approach and a focus on safety. · Adhere to all company safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations at all times. · Deliver friendly and professional customer service to clients, occupants, and coworkers, representing LB&B Associates, Inc. with pride. What We're Looking For Do you bring a strong work ethic, deep technical knowledge, and a desire to make an impact? We're looking for candidates who offer: · Required: Valid state license as a plumber or pipefitter. · Required: Minimum 6 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of commercial or institutional plumbing/piping systems, with a strong preference for central utility plant experience. · Proven ability to operate, maintain, and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, and related plant infrastructure. · Thorough understanding of applicable codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., UPC, IPC, OSHA, ASME). · Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to identifying and resolving complex system issues. · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, control schematics, P&IDs, and manufacturer documentation. · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written--able to share information clearly with teammates, supervisors, and clients. · Proficiency with basic computer applications for recordkeeping, work orders, and reporting. · High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety at every step. · Physical stamina and dexterity for working in plant environments--including standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces or at heights. · Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed. · A collaborative spirit, a positive attitude, and a drive to deliver excellence every day.
