Trauma Program Nurse Manager (Finance)



Nemours Children's Health in Orlando Florida is seeking a Trauma Program Nurse Manager!

More children die of injury than any other causes combined. Injured children require special resources best found in a pediatric trauma center. The trauma program manger is a registered nurse who assumes responsibility for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multi-disciplinary approach to providing care to injured pediatric patients. This person, in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director, manages all activities related to the Pediatric Trauma Program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Organizes trauma interdisciplinary services and systems to achieve optimal patient care in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director. Collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director, assures compliance with all Florida Department of Health standards pertaining to Pediatric Trauma Center designation
  • Directs the planning and development of the trauma program including the development and management of the program's operational budget
  • Assumes day to day responsibility for processes and performance improvement activities related to the care of the pediatric trauma patient
  • Identifies departmental and organizational quality indicators; monitors and evaluates performance in achievement of outcomes
  • Functions as an expert practitioner who provides for clinical needs of trauma patients, both directly and indirectly
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all trauma policies and protocols
  • Supervises personnel and assists in the development and maintenance of the Trauma Registry by tracking components of trauma care in a timely and comprehensive manner in order to evaluate patient care outcomes
  • Participates in the regional / state trauma system
  • Provides leadership and opportunities for professional educational efforts of the trauma program

Position Requirements
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida
  • Graduate of a BSN accredited school of nursing. Master's preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of emergency and trauma nursing experience. Prior experience within a trauma system preferred
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Is flexible and adapts to change
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills including effective team building
  • An American Heart Association BLS required upon hire
