Commodity Manager (Warehousing) (Information Technology)



What you will do

  • Development of sourcing logistics strategies for US & Canada.
  • Responsible of commercial negotiations with warehouse providers
  • Responsible of continuous improvement projects identification while supporting regional logistics team.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Finance teams to increase efficiency, optimize the end-to-end supply chain and reduce cost within the Clarios network .
  • Be results-driven about business cost reduction, revenue increasing initiatives, aggregating supplier volume/reducing price, & utilizing tools/identifying opportunities for e-processes increasing capacity & driving controllership.

How you will do it

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for all warehousing and 3PL services providers in the region.
  • Develop, execute, implement, and document RFP/RFQ processes within corporate procurement guidelines and procedures.
  • Negotiate commercial terms (i.e., rates, volumes, etc.) and contracts language that are in compliant with existing regulations, (including but not limited to environmental and trade) and that minimizes exposure.
  • Consistently interact with regional key stakeholders (i.e. finance and operations/transportation) and communicate of any change in contracted terms that impacts logistics' cost.
  • Ensure terms and conditions contracted with logistics providers (including but not limited to committed volume of business, pricing, and payment terms) are met.
  • Permanently evaluate warehousing industry macro trends to determine potential impacts on operations and initiates action to ensure potential risks mitigation.
  • Analyze, track, and forecast market conditions and provide management with recommended course of action
  • Continuously benchmark rates and pricing with third party companies and identify and close gaps
  • Support as needed transportation budgeting process.
  • Manage business relationships with logistics providers and consistently communicates changes on business needs.
  • Establish scorecards and business reviews with logistics providers.
  • Develop best in class logistics provider supplier base.
  • Identify and drive savings initiatives (rate increase mitigation)
  • STIG and SIX Sigma projects development and implementations.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field, APICS certification a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal and visual communications.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
