Senior Manager, Advanced Product Development (Finance)



Position Summary:

The Senior Advanced Product Development Manager is responsible for assimilating and leveraging key market and trend data to devise global future fluid handling strategies, roadmaps, and products with a goal to grow content per vehicle, revenue, and margin. This position also leads the regional delivery of select innovations from initial concept to "saleable" products utilizing our corporate "i3" innovation process and helps coordinate activities for our global advanced development efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with the sales team and automotive customers to collect voice-of-the-customer (VoC) information which can be leveraged in the development of new fluid-handling products
  • Collect and analyze global automotive market trend data and work with colleagues to forecast future needs for fluid handling products and markets.
  • Generate coherent global and regional product development strategies and road maps to outline a future pipeline of innovative new products that grow content per vehicle, revenue, and margins.
  • Develop, manage and grow a team of advanced product development engineers and professionals
  • Implement the advanced product strategy, and translate into actionable items for the team
  • Manage delivery of select advanced development projects leveraging our i3 development process
  • Lead coordination of efforts with other advanced development teams to align deliverables and actions
  • Develop departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities
  • Manage expenses and capital budgets to ensure targets are met
  • Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues
  • Provide technical guidance regarding newly developed products to employees and/or customers
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizations problems
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in department operations; champion continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership to managers and professional staff
  • Influence others internally and externally, including senior leaders
  • Meet with new and existing suppliers with products or materials which can be utilized in our products
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
