The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading all procurement activities to ensure the cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational efficiency and financial performance across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management · Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan to drive cost savings and enable efficient contracting in a fast-paced environment. · Analyze supply markets and establish strategies to engage top-tier suppliers at international, national, and local levels. · Negotiate supply agreements to ensure competitive pricing and supply continuity. · Document and communicate cost savings and other value-added contributions to the business. Supplier Relationship Management · Design and implement a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to enhance partnerships with key suppliers and foster continuous improvement and innovation. Financial Planning & Analysis · Collaborate with the Director of Accounting and VP of Strategic Operations to develop and maintain standard costs for budgeting and purchase price variance (PPV) analysis. · Manage raw material and packaging financial planning within assigned categories. Systems & Process Management · Administer and maintain the materials module within the company's ERP system. · Conduct Material Resource Planning (MRP) as part of the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Operational Support · Partner with operations and manufacturing teams to determine inventory levels and purchasing volumes aligned with customer demand and production schedules. · Proactively eliminate or minimize packaging and ingredient obsolescence. Professional Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration · Stay current with purchasing trends and regulatory changes through courses, seminars, networking, and industry literature. · Participate in cross-functional projects involving R&D, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
