Facilities Manager (Finance)
Job Description & Responsibilities
Persistent Systems is seeking a facilities manager to join our team in our New York City headquarters. The facilities manager will oversee a variety of day-to-day activities. These activities include supply management, general maintenance, facility inspection, vendor management, construction coordination and other tasks assigned by the facilities director. This individual will report to the facility director and work on site five days a week.
Position Responsibilities
- Monitors work areas and examine systems to ensure safe conditions or to detect violations of procedures or safety rules
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as equipment, replacement parts
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling or construction projects for properties
- Coordinate and oversee operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of office areas
- Other duties as assigned by the Facility Director
- Supervise the delivery of contractual services
- At the direction of the Facility Director, responds promptly to requests for office maintenance, repairs, and cleaning needs.
- Inspects the facility, systems, rooms, common areas, and reports back any findings or issues to the Facility Director
- Coordinates facilities maintenance and repairs for office suites
- Assists in the coordination of new construction or office modifications
- To be on standby in case of any emergency which may include attending the office out-of-hours depending on the nature and gravity of the situation
- Regularly communicate workflow status and updates to Facility Director, including facility support staff performance, operational objectives and associate issues, decisions made, and solution implemented
- Serve as first line of on-site leadership for any facility-related items including responding to and addressing all facility requests submitted by employees
- Assesses and monitors facility repairs to ensure cost effectiveness
- Participate in all planning and budgeting associated with facility needs
- Assists the Facility Director in the preparation and coordination of all office space maintenance programs relating to conditions and appearance of the office areas
- Support the Facility Director to ensure full compliance with standards established within service agreements
- Participates in the selection of contract services, and vendor negotiation of service agreements
- Responsible for the positive and prompt response to facilities-related requests from employees
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
- A warm, polite and friendly approach to customers
- Minimum of three years of experience in Facility Maintenance required
- After hours, on call availability as needed to address unforeseen facilities related issues
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Excellent customer communication skills, both verbal and written
The base pay for this role can vary from $84,000 to $105,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
