EHS Specialist (Finance)

We're looking for a talented EH&S Specialist to support our industry leading products here at Tosoh Quartz, Inc.

The EH&S Specialist provides operational, technical, and administrative support for the company's Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs and policies. You will monitor daily operations to identify potential risk and collaborate with area supervisors to implement corrective actions. You will conduct routine inspections and functional tests of safety equipment and workplace hazard monitoring systems; document findings and escalate anomalies or safety concerns for timely resolutions. You'll assist with Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities and employee safety training programs. Maintain accurate safety records, manuals, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Contribute to ongoing safety audits and investigations related to incidents, accidents, and emergency situations.

What you'll do at Tosoh Quartz.

  • Perform daily safety inspections and assign corrective actions.
  • Observe work areas and collaborate with management to improve safety practices.
  • Coach employees on safety behaviors and ensure policy compliance.
  • Lead and support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Support environment, health, safety, emergency response and sustainability programs.
  • Monitor environmental waste and ensure proper handling, disposal, and documentation.
  • Participate in safety committee activities and assist in injury claims.
  • Respond to on-site emergencies; CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Operate and maintain safety and environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Track and report progress on safety and compliance goals

Who you are.

  • High school diploma.
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification
  • 3+ years of experience in occupational safety and health, including environmental program development.
  • Knowledge of company EHS programs and ability to apply new situations to the standards and make recommendations for correction/improvement.
  • General understanding of OSHA codes, Fire Code, EPA/ODEQ requirements, and so forth.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles that are involved in reduction of risk to the personnel and the company.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to meet deadlines pertaining to completion of projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support second and third shift operations.
