Sr Electrical Engineer (Architecture)



Position Title: Electrical Engineer or Sr Electrical Engineer, A&E (P3 or P4)*

*Level will be determined commensurate with experience.

Role

The Electrical Engineer leads project teams in the production of Architectural and Engineering (A&E) design packages for telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role is best suited for licensed professional engineers (PE).

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and review electrical design for telecom projects.
  • Perform electrical engineering assignments associated with designing equipment, components, or systems.
  • Develop a variety of engineering deliverables including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, and electrical installation details.
  • Detail reviews of site and electrical design prior to approval as Engineer of Record.
  • Prepare engineering sketches, perform engineering calculations, and develop analysis models.
  • Recommend electrical design changes for telecom sites.
  • Perform quality audit of work products from external parties, as required.
  • Respond to consultation work order requests like Jurisdictions, as required.
  • Develop, maintain and own tools, standards and training, as applicable.
  • Proactively communicate useful updates in accordance with project expectations.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Successful completion of the PE Exam required.
  • Successful completion of an EE Exam preferred.
  • Professional licensure (EE or PE) preferred.

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) to eight (8) or more years of relevant experience. 
  • Ability to create and evaluate electrical plans, one-line diagrams, and other electrical details.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Preferences

  • Experience using MS Excel and other general-purpose software for engineering calculations.
  • Understanding spatial relationships to resolve potential interference issues.
  • Understanding of structural load paths.
  • Knowledge of bolted and welded connection design.
  • Knowledge of tower hardware and components.
  • Experience or knowledge of steel shop fabrication processes and/or knowledge of fabrication shop tools and capabilities.
  • Experience or knowledge in tower/reinforcement erection and/or knowledge of tower construction equipment and practices.
  • Experience leading projects
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in customer relations and communications.
  • Open to innovative solutions utilizing developing technology.
  • Experience using tnxTower and/or RISA 3D software.

Organizational Relationship Reports to: Sr. Manager Service Delivery

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel. 

The pay range offered for this position is $115,700-$159,100 annually. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive a minimum of 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
