Job Title: Director - Product Governance and Execution (Finance)
The Director will lead, oversee, and guide a team of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches within the IT organization. This role involves ensuring that Agile principles and practices are effectively implemented across multiple teams, facilitating continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Additionally, the Director will allocate and utilize Scrum Master and Agile Coach resources to meet the organization's product delivery needs. The Director will work closely with Product Owners, Product Delivery Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business goals.
Specific duties include but not limited to:Leadership and Mentorship:• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Scrum Masters, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to excel in their roles• Manage and support communities of practice for Scrum Masters to drive continued upskilling opportunities within the Scrum Master capability• Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages continuous learning and improvementAgile Implementation:• Oversee the implementation of Agile methodologies across multiple teams, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) as neededProcess Improvement:• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness• Monitor and report on key performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement• Support scaled events and planning activities for continued dependency management and risk identificationStakeholder Management:• Collaborate with Product Owners, Development Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on the product backlog and PoD team goals and priorities• Act as a liaison between the Scrum teams and senior management, providing regular updates on the product backlog and PoD status and progress• Coordinates with Product Enablement team members for continued areas of opportunity and ongoing delivery managementAgile methodology champion:• Lead the adoption and implementation of the IEEE Product Operating Model framework across the organization, educating teams on Agile principles and practices.Training and Development:• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the Agile skills and knowledge of existing Scrum Masters and other team members• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, sharing insights and recommendations with the teamResource Management:• Manage the allocation and utilization of Scrum Master resources to meet the software delivery needs of the organization• Assess and balance the workload of Scrum Masters to ensure optimal support for all Agile teams• Coordinate with HR and other departments to recruit, onboard, and train new Scrum Masters as neededTool selection and implementation:• Evaluate and implement appropriate Agile project management tools to streamline workflows and reporting.
Leadership and Mentorship:• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams• Proven experience in mentoring and developing Scrum Masters and Agile teamsAgile Methodologies:• Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean• Experience in scaling Agile practices across multiple teams and initiativesCommunication and Collaboration:• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels• Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead effective meetings and workshopsProblem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively• Experience in conflict resolution and fostering a positive team environmentAnalytical and Reporting:• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor and report on key performance metrics• Proficiency in Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Confluence)Resource Management:• Experience in resource management, including workload balancing and capacity planning• Ability to assess and allocate resources effectively to meet business demands
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
