Position Summary
\n
The lAE is seeking a Systems Administrator I to assist in the overall management and operations of lAE? multiple computer systems, servers, networks, and audio-video systems. The systems Administrator routinely interacts with Institute researchers, staff, students, USF IT professionals, and sponsor counterparts in the accomplishment of his/herEducation/Experience

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and two years of IT related work experience,

OR

A Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and three years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and three years of IT related work experience, particularly systems administration. CompTIA Security+ certified.Working at USF

  • Installs, configures, and maintains multiple servers and workstations in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and classified networks, ensuring proper integration with other university computer systems. Supports operations and maintenance of customer computer systems located at Institute facilities, including U.S. Government computers and networks. Manages required system security procedures to include firewalls, host & client access, logs, file permissions, and user accounts. Performs software installations and upgrades to multiple operating systems and layered software applications.
  • At the direction of the Facility Security & Export Control Officer, ensures compliance with government policies governing protection of classified/controlled unclassified information, including the NISPOM, NIST 800.171, the Department of Defense? Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, and other statutes and regulations.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Manages multiple linked databases to include security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import/export procedures.
  • Develops and implements various training, job aids, and instruction for users on the use of operating systems, networking, software applications, and databases. Provide desktop and audio/video system support to Institute employees and partners.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to governing statutes and regulations, state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • Performs other technology duties as required to support the work of the unit.
