Position Information

Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process for all significant technology spend initiatives. They will recommend and implement business processes, practices, and policies to operationalize an effective procurement process. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to determine business needs, vendor selection, market analyses, and contract negotiations/renewals.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to execute the IT category strategy, ensuring thorough cost, process, market, and technical analyses.
  • Manage supplier selection, contract negotiation, and procurement operations for the IT category.
  • Define IT sourcing strategies for technology products, services, solutions and digital platforms aligned to technology and business objectives and priorities.
  • Present all pertinent vendor and/or industry trends to stakeholders and propose updates and improvements to existing strategies.
  • Present executive-level presentations, business cases and papers in support of the sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Maintain and present market analysis to IT and business leaders regarding innovative product, solution and service opportunities.
  • Identify cost-optimization opportunities and present a concise business case/plan to stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive, high-value procurement and contract negotiation consultation to the business leaders.
  • Lead the negotiation strategy and negotiation team for IT contracts during material sourcing events.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators for the procurement process.
  • Serves as a strategic advisor and liaison across Legal, Finance, Security, Procurement, and Technology stakeholders, including SVP, EVP, and C-level leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and timely issue resolution.
  • Create predictive spend analytics and reporting dashboards to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Lead post-contract value realization reviews to measure ROI and ensure contract terms are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes by leveraging procurement technologies, tools, and automation platforms.
  • Act as a change agent to promote procurement's strategic value across the organization.

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology or a related field; master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CPIM are advantageous.
  • Experience (ideally 4+) in procurement, category management, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Experience in implementing business policies and procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience in leading Request for Proposal (RFP) projects and conducting competitive bidding.
  • Strong quantitative, financial, and qualitative analytical skills paired with hands-on attitude, excellent attention to detail, and good business judgment.
  • Experience managingenterprise-wide IT procurement initiatives, including cloud services, SaaS, and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency withprocurement and contract lifecycle tools(e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Ivalua, or similar).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive strategic procurement outcomes with minimal oversight.
