ESG Project Manager, North America (Project Management)

ERM Certification and Verification Services (CVS), a rapidly growing global team within ERM Group is a Certification, Assurance and Verification Body, with expertise in audit, assessment, validation, verification, and assurance work in a wide range of ESG disciplines and sectors.

We are looking to add an enthusiastic Project Manager as part of our Corporate Assurance team in North America within our US-based team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing independent assurance of GHG/ESG information with multinational clients across a wide range of sectors.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Client Delivery: Planning, executing, and delivering a range of climate, sustainability and ESG assurance engagements globally, in accordance with relevant assurance standards (ISAE 3000) and ERM CVS methodologies, while maintaining ERM CVS' reputation of high-quality services.
  • Project Management: Managing planning and project budgets, updating of internal budget tracking tools, forecasts, and invoicing of multiple complex projects.
  • Client Relationships: Lead presenter in all client interactions within a project. This will include in-person or online kick-off meetings, project status meetings, site visits, and management report closeouts.
  • Business Development: Contributing to the team's success by building and maintaining strong client and internal ERM relationships. Anticipating and understanding clients' needs and developing proposals.
  • People: Recruiting, mentoring, and supporting the development of project team members as well as direct reports.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A degree level education in a sustainability, engineering, business, or audit related field.
  • 5-6 years of professional experience (professional services industry a plus).
  • Expertise in project management, managing multiple clients at the same time and ensuring delivery of deadlines.
  • Strong understanding on assurance standards (ISAE 3000, ISSA 5000, ISO 14064-3), assurance assertions (completeness, existence, accuracy) and audit procedures.
  • A broad working knowledge of all sustainability/ESG topics (i.e., GHG emissions, waste, biodiversity, health and safety, DEI, supply chain, governance, etc.)
  • Knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks used as reporting criteria. For example, GHG Protocol (Corporate Standard plus Scope 3 Guidance), ISSB, GRI, TCFD, CDP, CSRD, etc.
  • An appreciation of the importance of maintaining and developing client relationships.
  • Proven ability in data and spreadsheet analysis (use of Microsoft Excel)
  • Demonstrable writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and contribute enthusiastically to our growing business.
  • Be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Willingness for international travel for visits to client head offices and operational sites.
  • English and Spanish (an asset)

We work as a global team, with three key offices in Pennsylvania (USA), London (UK), and Sydney (AUS).  The team embraces hybrid working, working from a combination of home, ERM offices, and client locations.  As we expand into APAC, client travel is expected on a haphazard basis. Candidate must have a working passport and be able to travel internationally when needed for client site visits.
