Quality Improvement Coordinator (Finance)



Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Quality Improvement Coordinator to join our Quality department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Quality Improvement, the Quality Improvement Coordinator will directly support the implementation of changes in population care management practices to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of high-quality care delivery. You will use established clinical guidelines and leverage technology to manage data collection, analysis, and other tools to improve the quality of care. You will partner with project managers to coordinate deliverables and research aimed towards MAPMG's quality initiatives.

You can expect to:

  • Collaborate with clinical, technical, analytical, and operational teams to implement, maintain, and optimize population care management programs, leveraging Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other technology solutions to enhance care delivery
  • Coordinate preventive care and disease management outreach initiatives for Kaiser Permanente (KP) members using multiple communication channels, including secure messaging, phone calls, letters, and EMR tools such as order entry and chart review through the KP Health Connect (KPHC) system
  • Integrate data analytics and technology into project development, optimizing use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for population care management
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze healthcare quality dashboards and reports using tools like SQL and Tableau to monitor performance, provide data visualizations, and share actionable insights with physicians and clinical teams
  • Design and execute research project plans for data collection and analysis; interpret findings and report back to the Quality Improvement team to guide decision-making and action plan development
  • Evaluate workflows and organizational processes to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities based on risk and organizational impact

What is required:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or related field is required; Master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical and health care operations experience is required; Minimum of two (2) years of project support or coordinator experience is required
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as SQL and Tableau is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, communication, team-building, and facilitation skills are required
  • Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. office a minimum of one day per week
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment; Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $70,551.25 to $88,189.07, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
