You are:

An accomplished consultant with a strong foundation in Financial Services. You are energized by transforming organizations through strategy, innovation, and operational excellence. You thrive working alongside senior client leaders across Wealth and Asset Management, Banking, and Financial Markets Infrastructure sectors to help them capitalize on disruption, drive growth, and improve profitability.

This is a hybrid, in-office role based in New York or Boston.

The work:

  • Support day-to-day consulting project execution and ensure delivery of client outcomes within the engagement scope.
  • Own aspects of project planning, process management, and communicate status to clients and A&M leadership.
  • Drive content development - either hands-on or by guiding junior team members with frameworks, analysis, and insights.
  • Manage ongoing client interactions, building trust and understanding client priorities.
  • Support project scope management and maintain an effective work pace.
  • Collaborate across client and stakeholder groups to influence agendas and surface new opportunities.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives by sharing expertise, best practices, and thought leadership.
  • Help develop intellectual property by enhancing methodologies, tools, and approaches within the Financial Services practice.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal development and learning to architect client solutions.
  • Stay engaged with macro industry trends, fintech disruption, AI and digital innovation to inform project work and ideation.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to Consultants and Analysts, fostering growth and skill development through feedback and knowledge sharing.

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum 5 years of strategy consulting experience at a top-tier firm (MBB, Big 4 Strategy, or equivalent), supporting clients across:
    • Wealth & Asset Management
    • Banking
    • Financial Markets Infrastructure (Exchanges, Custodians, Data Providers)
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Growth Strategy and Business Model Transformation
    • Performance Improvement & Cost Re-engineering
    • Transaction Support (due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-outs, divestitures, 100-day plans)
    • Pricing and Revenue Optimization
    • Data, Platform, and Technology Modernization
    • Innovation, Data & Analytics, Digital and AI
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, able to analyze and synthesize large, unstructured datasets into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to deliver results independently and collaborate across multifunctional teams managing multiple projects.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with a focus on storytelling through data.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

The salary range is $135,000 - $190,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
