Meeting & Events Coordinator (Finance)

We are currently looking for a Meetings & Event Coordinator in our Minneapolis, MN Office.

Reporting to the Managing Director or Director on the Meetings, Events & Media team, the meetings, and events coordinator will support corporate events and activities, including corporate meetings, conferences, client dinners and sponsorships.

Our team is looking for a creative, resilient, and energetic professional with strong organizational skills. This role must be able to effectively balance the individual needs of clients and stakeholders with the overall firm objectives. It requires a collaborative and technologically savvy individual with a discerning eye for quality. The events coordinator will contribute to overall conference management and strong execution with creative ideas, collaboration skills, self-motivation, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at once.

Responsibilities

Conference and Event Management

• Support and assist conference team with the 3-4 larger Piper Sandler industry conferences in healthcare, technology, energy, financial services, and consumer in addition to manage smaller-scale events individually.

• Manage internal events such as analyst and intern trainings which tend to be 1-3 weeks in length along with holiday parties and other internal meeting as necessary.

• Work with business partners and department management to keep open dialogues on event planning and implementation timeline and tasks throughout the event planning cycle

• Coordinate sponsorship events as assigned, providing expertise on marketing collateral development, benefits management and event logistics

• Assist with venue selection call in pre-planning events and securing sites and contracts

• Provide project management, maintains project status and communicates deadlines to the broader team

• Budget management

• Implement firm larger internal events such as corporate orientation and summer analyst trainings

• Meeting logistics, collateral materials and on-site coordination in support of the broader team to include conferences, corporate meetings, client dinners and other company events

• Manage and maintain the Piper Sandler Company Store along with custom branded orders firmwide. (Managing use of logo)

• Manage shipping lists for events. Pack and ship materials for all events.

• Keep inventory of event supplies and order supplies as needed.

• The ability to easily navigate registration database or survey tools - MeetMax and Qualtrics

Requirements

• 2-3 years' experience in and events

• Four-year bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations or communications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively with a wide range of people

• Ability to work independently and with little supervision

• Proficient in: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

• Meticulous attention to detail, exceptionally strong organization and communication skills, and eagerness to learn, contribute and add value

• Ability to manage timelines and adhere to sensitive deadlines

• Solid organization skills, able to prioritize under pressure and independently manage multiple deadlines

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in professional services firm and/or a highly regulated industry

• Ability to travel about 10% of the time if applicable

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $60,000 - $71,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market. Apply
