A Brief Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of production operations within the facility. This includes supervising production teams, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, optimizing production efficiency, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals. The Production Manager will lead continuous improvement efforts, ensure compliance with GMP and safety regulations, and maintain effective communication between production staff and management. The role requires leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining a productive and safe work environment.

What you will do

  • Lead and coach Production Line Teams to foster team development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct training and development programs to ensure team members are skilled and motivated. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Maintain and update production standards, ensuring they align with company goals and best practices. Track efficiency and rework rates, providing regular feedback to line teams and implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Conduct Health & Safety meetings and audits as required, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety and lead efforts to maintain a zero-accident environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including managing disciplinary actions when necessary. Collaborate with HR to resolve employee grievances and maintain positive labor relations. Monitor quality metrics and work closely with the Quality team to ensure product quality is consistently maintained.
  • Manage vacation schedules and approve employee timecards to ensure sufficient staffing levels. Coordinate staffing needs with production schedules to maintain efficient operations.
  • Lead initiatives to improve production efficiency and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for labor optimization and cost-saving measures, communicating these initiatives across teams.
  • Lead and support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of 5S practices within the production area to ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Monitor and manage production budgets, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Collaborate with Customer Service, Scheduling, QA, IQC, Lab, and material handling teams to resolve any production-related issues.
  • Oversee new product launches and trials, ensuring smooth integration into production. Assist with costing and planning for new product opportunities, ensuring they meet cost and quality expectations.
  • Conduct shift huddles with production and maintenance leads to address potential issues and ensure proactive planning. Strive to maintain 100% schedule adherence and resolve any production delays promptly.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to investigate production issues and lead the development of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Serve as a temporary replacement for staff in their absence. Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.
  • Some duties may vary slightly by location.


Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) or
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Manufacturing, Operations Management) (Preferred)


Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in production management. (Required)


Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop production teams to achieve high performance and meet company objectives. (High proficiency)
  • Analytical skills to identify production issues and implement effective solutions. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization. (High proficiency)
  • Understanding of workplace safety regulations and the ability to enforce them. (High proficiency)
  • Expertise in manufacturing quality systems, GMP compliance, and maintaining product quality. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to manage production schedules and budgets effectively. (Medium proficiency)
  • Familiarity with production equipment and systems. (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement processes. (Medium proficiency)
