Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V), public cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), and a working knowledge of security practices with a focus on user identity and access management (IAM) standards. This role will be pivotal in managing our hybrid cloud infrastructure and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable systems to support business operations.

Job Location

This is a hybrid role based at our Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS).
  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable IAM solutions, including user lifecycle management, role-based access controls, and federation services.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure secure integration between systems.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate routine tasks, improve system efficiency, and reduce downtime in production environments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and internal governance policies.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical manufacturing systems and data.
  • Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and standard operating procedures to support knowledge transfer and operational consistency.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Nutanix, and/or Hyper-V).
  • 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure in Azure and/or AWS hybrid environments.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) principles, including Azure AD, AWS IAM, SSO, and MFA.
  • Familiarity with IT/OT integration and securing industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, or MES platforms.
  • Understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, NSGs, security groups).
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions in distributed or multi-site environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to manufacturing (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
  • Familiarity with hybrid identity models and federation services (ADFS, Azure AD Connect).
  • Exposure to manufacturing-specific systems such as MES, ERP, or SCADA platforms.
