Director, New Business Integration (Finance)



As a key member of the Pet Food Business Development team, the Director Business Development Integration partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Sales and Marketing Teams to deliver fact-based analysis and insight-led recommendations driving towards the profitable growth of Simmons Pet Food. This position will work with key stakeholders to develop and execute cross functional Network Optimization Strategies and holistic Sales Operations solutions that deliver upon strategic company goals in areas of topline growth, operational efficiencies and asset utilization.

Lead Network Optimization Initiatives for the Pet Food Business Unit with cross functional partners in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Marketing. Collects and analyses data from subject matter experts in spaces of capacity and capabilities to develop strategy that delivers upon future state business needs and manages cost out for both Simmons and Customers. Develops process leveraging people, data and technology to ensure sustainability in strategy.

Key Contributor to Pet Food Strategic Initiatives and S&OP process from data-based strategy development through to execution and tracking against aligned KPIs. Provide monthly and quarterly updates for Business Unit with actionable recommendations. Contribute to and analyze monthly business planning processes around Network utilization and P&L implications. Utilize data in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance to develop recommendations and business cases for responsible investments in areas of capabilities and capacity. Establish KPIs and actively measure success of project execution after alignment.

Analyze Operational Data and Inventory through end-to-end manufacturing process, identifying optimal state and areas of opportunity to develop strategy and recommendations that optimizes efficiency, assets and cash flow. Develops suite of self-service analytical tools that are exception based and drive to action in the areas of Operational Analytics and Asset Management. Act as a central point of contact for cross functional strategy executing against multi-departmental asset management initiatives.

Monitor Operational KPIs and inventory levels to drive accountability that ensures efficient cash and capital management while maximizing topline sales, optimizing processing capacities and total asset management. Support in establishing annual KPI targets that meet company and BU goals while concurrently enabling strategic customer growth.

Support Data Governance & Integrity. Establishes data hierarchy to normalize operational data, inventory and holistic network optimization metrics across pet food division business. Supports the management and cleaning of data as strategic partner to Business Analytics Manager and IT.

Strategy and Communication . Develops and facilitates internal communications regarding the business unit's focus around inventory and mix management to include internal meetings with sales and marketing managers, supply chain and finance stakeholders, as well as other activities promoting the knowledge and understanding of our strategic goals and effect on our customer base.

Maintains and fosters strong communication and relationships across organization. Works to be an active clearinghouse of ideas, concerns and activity on behalf of the full commercial team. Acts as a champion for the business and team. Acts as an idea leader, building compelling and persuasive business cases to ensure alignment, gaining broad-based support for and resource allocation to the activities of the team.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities : Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.

Travel : Travels as needed; to and from multiple facilities, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Technical Experience : Ideally 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Sales Operations and/or replenishment data analytics, category management, or other relevant area. CPG experience preferred. Highly proficient with MS Office applications; advanced skills in Excel required. Comfort with using data mining software; Tableau and Alteryx competency highly preferred.

Industry Experience : Preference for pet food and/or high velocity consumer packaged goods background.

Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Analytics, Marketing or other relevant Business discipline or 4 years related work experience.
