DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Manages annual audits and implements policies and procedures related to Customs Trade Partnerships Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) security and C-TPAT Trade Compliance programs to ensure compliance with import and export laws and regulations .
- Provides input in contract negotiation and evaluates service standards for customs brokers, freight forwarders, consultants and Third Party Logistics (3PL) service providers
- Collaborates with multiple departments regarding import procedures, oversees inbound shipments (air, ocean, and over the road), and manages service providers to ensure streamlined flow of materials to NOA and third-party logistics providers.
- Creates and facilitates training programs and procedural manuals for customs compliance throughout the company.
- Interacts with trade associates, consultants, and customs attorneys.
- Determines harmonized tariff classifications, eligibility for preference trade programs.
- Responsible for monthly payment of US Customs Payments (Duty, Taxes, Tariffs) and Canadian Goods and Service Tax (GST).
- Oversees and develops assigned staff.
