Director, Rights & Partnerships (Sports) (Finance)

UEG is currently looking for a Director to support the continued growth of our Sports practice. This individual will play a key role in day-to-day client service and program execution while helping to identify opportunities that support the growth and leadership of UEG Sports within the industry.

As a Director, you'll collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional partners across UEG and Edelman's broader global network. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in sports marketing and partnerships, who's eager to contribute both strategically and operationally across client work and new business efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead execution of sports-focused campaigns and programs, managing timelines, deliverables, and internal workstreams to ensure excellence across client initiatives
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and partners, ensuring high-quality service and clear communication
    • Support strategic planning and creative development for brand activations within the sports landscape, including across talent, properties, and media platforms
    • Partner with senior leadership to develop scopes of work, timelines, and budgets, and assist in drafting proposals and decks
    • Contribute to client growth strategies by identifying integration and partnership opportunities
    • Maintain an informed perspective on the client's business, competitors, and industry trends, and share relevant updates with internal teams
    • Collaborate across disciplines and internal teams to bring integrated ideas to life
    • Organize and lead internal briefings and status meetings to keep work on track and ensure alignment across all stakeholders
    • Assist with tracking project health, budgets, and invoicing in partnership with Finance
    • Participate in agency brainstorms and ideation sessions to support existing and prospective clients

QUALIFICATIONS

    • 6-8 years in sports marketing, brand partnerships, or related fields within an agency, team, league, media, or brand environment
    • Strong understanding of the sports partnership ecosystem, including sponsorship models and talent integration
    • Proven experience supporting multi-channel campaigns and activations within the sports landscape
    • Excellent client service and relationship management skills, with the ability to navigate both internal and external teams
    • Clear, confident written and verbal communicator, able to tailor messaging for a variety of audiences
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • A proactive and positive team player who brings ideas, energy, and initiative to the table
    • Passion for sports, with a finger on the pulse of industry trends and innovations
    • Ability to travel occasionally and work nights/weekends as needed for events or client needs
    • Based in New York City or Chicago (hybrid role)

$80,000 - $120,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
