Product Transition Manager (Finance)

Elbit Systems of America - Night Vision is seeking a dynamic Product Transition Lead (PTL) to integrate with and provide direction to new product development project teams; championing manufacturability, producibility, and unit production costs as key considerations to the development efforts. The PTL will apply their knowledge of ESA-NV Operations practices/processes to influence product design. The candidate will closely interface with the R&D team and with Operations departments: Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Configuration Management, to ensure proper levels of engagement and support throughout the product development life cycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the efforts to transition new night vision products into manufacturing
  • Serve as an integral team member for new development projects throughout the product development life cycle
  • Champion the drive for 'design for manufacturability' and lowest production cost while meeting stringent technical and quality requirements
  • Provide leadership and influence to project teams in R&D; and in Operations
  • Support IPT to ensure appropriate levels of engagement during the latter part of the product development life cycle from key personnel within Operations, R&D, PM, PLM, HR, etc.
  • Share responsibility for team leadership of new product development projects with Program Managers and Project Engineering Managers
  • Support new business proposals from a producibility perspective

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years technical experience in relevant Manufacturing/R&D environment with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated development and delivery of presentations to all levels of the organization
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to handle/delegate multiple high priorities; comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience in working with suppliers to create assemblies and/or piece parts

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant Night Vision industry experience is a plus
  • Familiarity/comfort working with development Engineering functions
  • Six Sigma blackbelt certification or higher
  • Assertive enough to garner the attention and support of Operations personnel whose primary focus is current production
  • Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale
  • Experience working in Agile environment
