As a Plumber/Pipefitter Helper, your key responsibilities will include: · Assist licensed plumbers and pipefitters with the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, pumps, valves, and plumbing fixtures throughout the central utility plant and associated facilities. · Help monitor plant systems, including steam, chilled water, hot water, compressed air, and domestic water distribution, ensuring everything is running smoothly and safely under supervision. · Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, and related controls, learning proper procedures and safety practices. · Contribute to troubleshooting efforts by helping to inspect systems, identify potential problems, and assist in repairs to keep plant operations reliable and efficient. · Learn to read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications, enhancing your technical literacy and understanding. · Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, electricians, and building staff to support coordinated repairs, shutdowns, and upgrades with minimal disruptions. · Maintain accurate records of work performed, tools used, and materials handled in accordance with company procedures. · Participate in plant rounds, helping monitor system pressures, temperatures, flows, and chemical levels, and adjust equipment as needed under guidance. · Assist in managing inventory of piping, plumbing supplies, tools, and safety gear to ensure the plant operates without interruption. · Respond to emergency situations such as leaks, floods, and system failures, acting quickly and calmly as part of a problem-solving team. · Follow all company safety protocols, use PPE appropriately, and comply with environmental and facility regulations at all times. · Deliver friendly and professional service to clients, occupants, and coworkers, proudly representing LB&B Associates, Inc. in every interaction.
