Associate, Corporate M&A and Strategy (Finance)



We are looking for an exceptional Associate to join our Corporate M&A and Strategy team. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing strategic initiatives at Kroll, including acquihires, tuck-ins, and transformational M&A; organizing integration efforts and coordinating between cross-functional teams; and supporting high visibility strategy and growth projects. Kroll is a global professional service and technology business that is private equity-backed, so inorganic growth is a core part of our overall strategy, and you will be critical to achieving our success.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

M&A Deal Support

  • Support portfolio of deal opportunities under review by Kroll's Corporate Development team by performing market, competitive, and financial research to identify and assess acquisition targets
  • Assist in drafting investment memos, presentations, and valuation summaries for executive and board review
  • Develop financial models to evaluate deal economics

M&A Due Diligence & Transaction Execution

  • Help coordinate due diligence efforts across business leaders, legal, finance, HR, and other functions
  • Support data room management and information tracking
  • Liaise with external advisors, legal counsel, and target company teams

Post-Transaction Support

  • Assist with integration planning and performance tracking post-closing
  • Work closely with FP&A and business leaders to ensure alignment with strategic goals

Strategy and Growth

  • Work with Strategy Office and partner with business unit leaders to develop strategic plans, market entry proposals, and growth roadmaps
  • Support annual strategic planning cycles including executive workshops, financial modeling, and scenario planning
  • Analyze market trends, industry shifts, and competitive positioning to inform long-term planning
  • Act as an internal consultant on behalf of the Executive Leadership Team for critical growth and innovation initiatives

Essential Traits:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting, or corporate strategy
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal execution experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Skilled in MS Office, including Excel (financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint (presentation-building)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop compelling presentations
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders

The current salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000
