The Impact You'll Make in this Role
Solventum is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Supply Chain Lead to join our growing sustainability organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and implementing our Purchase Goods and Services supplier engagement and emissions reduction strategy, driving our commitment to combat global climate change.

  • Purchased Goods and Services Emissions Inventory:
  • Identify and engage with key suppliers across the value chain to gather accurate emissions data
  • Develop relationships with high environmental impact suppliers to enable suppliers covering 50% of emissions from purchased goods and services to set science-based targets
  • Develop and implement robust data collection and management systems for purchased goods and services emissions data.
  • Lead the maturity efforts to move from supplier engagement and spend based approach to an absolute reduction target with supplier specific emissions.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Emissions Reduction Strategy:

  • Develop and implement supplier engagement programs to ensure suppliers are aligned with Solventum's GHG emission reduction targets.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive purchased goods and services emissions reduction strategy, including setting ambitious reduction targets and identifying key reduction opportunities.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies for purchased goods and services emissions reduction.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and 3rd party providers to include emissions considerations in supplier selection processes.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and submit annual purchased goods and services emissions disclosures to the ESG group
  • Develop clear and concise communications and reporting materials to effectively communicate purchased goods and services supplier engagement and emissions performance and progress to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the company's sustainability report and other public disclosures.

Continuous Improvement and Project Management:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the purchased goods and services emissions accounting and reporting processes.
  • Support and lead supply base projects and initiatives alongside the procurement team and supply base to achieve purchased good and services emissions targets.
  • Identify and implement new tools, technologies and automation capabilities to streamline and enhance data collection and analysis
  • Lead dashboard development and integration of data into procurement standard work and operating mechanisms.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulations and standards related to purchased goods and services ESG requirements and reporting.
  • Support additional environmental programs and emerging regulation requirements

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field and a minimum of (5) years of combined procurement, logistics, supply chain, experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.

OR
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of (9) nine years of combined procurement, logistics, supply chain, experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Experience with Scope 3 emissions data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with supplier engagement and collaboration on emissions reduction initiatives.
  • Minimum of (5) years of experience in corporate sustainability, with a focus on GHG accounting and reporting.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools, LCA software).
  • Experience with process mapping and technical problem solving

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong data manipulation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CDP reporting and other sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with science-based targets and other climate goal-setting frameworks.
  • Project management expertise
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, Science Based Target Initiative).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $82,370 - $100,675, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
