Manufacturing Supervisor (Manufacturing)

TransCore-Amtech Systems (AMS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full time Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Summary
Directs the training, development, and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Directly supervises employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Assists production management in establishing department goals and objectives.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving complaints.
• Directs and coaches the production team to accomplish the production schedules, as well as schedule overtime and/or downtime as required.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of training for direct reports, as well as performance appraisals of team members.
• Ensures department equipment and machinery is properly maintained with the proper records and reports.
• Provides team feedback/coaching on job performance, personal development, and career opportunities.
• Provides conditions that will lead to maximum efficiency and productivity from each team member.
• Ensures compliance to all company policies and procedures.

 

Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Typically requires a minimum 5 years manufacturing experience, and 1 year experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school in Electronics, Industrial Electronics, or Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education or experience. 
• Excellent leadership including coaching, training, delegation, and development.
• MS Office Software and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication/customer service skills.
• Good communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and minimal risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
