Engineering Technician II (Finance)



Summary of Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician II researches, plans, designs, develops, analyzes and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including displays, sensors, processors, interface units and other electronic devices;

circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful

  • Perform design activities as assigned by supervisor
  • Design and assembly of test equipment and circuits including board and cable assembly
  • Produce preliminary reports and analysis
  • Produce preliminary schematics
  • Run validation testing
  • Optimization of manufacturing processes,
  • Implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination),
  • Training production employees to improve work processes and product quality,
  • Work to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory and production issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & License or Certification

  • Associate degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or over 5 years of related work experience
  • 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with review/inspection of mechanical assemblies, optics and/or soldering
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
  • Experience training others
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures
  • A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.
  • Preferred:
  • Prior experience with one or more of the following: CRTs & optics, HUDs, RF, Radar, Power supply design, firmware, test software, JTAG, ICT, ESS
  • J-STD soldering experience

  • Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
