ABOUT THE ROLE
Honeywell Building Management Systems (BMS) is a leading HVAC business unit within Honeywell Building Automation (BA). Our global BA department integrates technology across Fire, Security and Building Management Systems. Its quality products, secure system solutions, and services make life safer, more comfortable, more secure, and more productive in every corner of our world.

Our Regulatory Compliance Team has an immediate opportunity for an Advanced Certification Engineer within our BMS business.

The preferred candidate will be highly motivated with demonstrated initiative and have a fundamental understanding of product compliance methodologies that can be leveraged for both business success and to guide other team members.

The annual base salary pay range for this position is $106,000.00 - $158,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations

The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.As an Advanced Certification Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead certification processes, work with regulatory bodies, and ensure our products meet all standards and regulations, enhancing customer trust and satisfaction. You'll work out of our Northford, CT, location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
  • 5 years of experience with new product development, agency approvals or in a certified laboratory
  • 2 years of full lifecycle project management experience and the ability to provide understanding of key technical terms

WE VALUE
  • Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize key efforts, identify root causes, and take corrective actions
  • Preferred Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience with relevant certification agencies and schemes: Intertek, UL, G Mark, ECAS
  • Engineering product development or design validation experience
  • Desire and capability to use AI to expedite certifications and provide enhancements to the standard Regulatory MOS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with global team members on test and process methodologies in order to comply with national and regional requirements
  • Develop standard work procedures, implement best practices, and liaise with engineering team members to share knowledge
  • Analyze task risks, deadlines, and priorities to help management drive realistic project schedules
  • Gain technical expertise within Regulatory to support compliance of new and existing BMS projects
  • Interpret Regulatory standards and advise engineering teams in order to meet product requirements
  • Maintain product and equipment compliance to latest standards (changes in EN, BS, UL/ULC, IEC standards, etc.)
  • Define product approval strategies in the areas of design, functionality, and documentation
  • Prepare test plans, set up systems, coordinate testing, and obtain approvals with agencies
  • Guide Engineering teams and agencies on required software and hardware testing to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Resolve manufacturing audit concerns by supporting auditor(s) and providing accurate and complete information
  • Become an outstanding liaison between agencies and Honeywell engineering/manufacturing/quality teams
