Supervisor-School Based Team (Full Time, Hybrid, Durham County, North Carolina Based) (Personal Services)



The School Based Team Supervisor is responsible for the clinical oversight of the SBT, data analytics of all SBT programs, partnering with leadership at school system leadership to monitor and report the required data analysis plan, address any barriers, and adjust processes in regard to quality management.  

This is a full-time hybrid opportunity. The selected candidate must be available to report onsite to the Alliance Office (Morrisville, North Carolina) if needed to attend business meetings. They will also be expected to travel throughout the Durham County area to serve Alliance members as needed. The successful candidate would have experience within Durham County System of Care (DCPSS, Durham County DSS, Durham Juvenile Justice, Durham Crisis and hospital facilities, etc). 

Responsibilities & Duties

Supervise and Develop Staff

  • Work with Human Resources and Unit Directors at both Alliance and Public School System (PSS) to maintain and retain a highly qualified and well-trained workforce.  
  • Ensure staff are well trained in and comply with all organization and department policies (Alliance Health & PSS), procedures, business processes, and workflows.
  • Monitor staff compliance with all Alliance and PSS Organizational Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure the department has the needed tools and resources to achieve organizational goals and to support employees and ensure compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Actively establish and promote a positive, diverse, and inclusive working environment that builds trust.  
  • Ensure all staff are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Ensure standards are transparent and applied consistently, impartially, and ethically over time and across all staff members.
  • Work to resolve conflicts and disputes, ensuring that all participants are given a voice.

Supervise Unit Operations

  • Oversee SBT's BI system and interface, including ongoing collaboration with IT to further develop and improve systems and data analytics 
  • Provide ongoing quality management of all SBT systems, including quarterly and yearly reports and data analytics for stakeholders 
  • Collaborate with PSS and County Government data analytics personnel to ensure monitoring of program by PSS due process department 
  • Facilitate leadership meetings between PSS and County Government 
  • Ensure that the activities of the School Based Team are properly and professionally documented within electronic medical record platform per documentation standards as well as internal and external email communication 
  • Provide clinical oversight for team, identifying when escalation is necessary or and offering supervision on difficult cases
  • Ensure adherence to agency (Alliance & PSS) and departmental policies and procedures to facilitate the functioning of the SBT unit and compliance with agency, state and federal regulations
  • Participate in local, regional, and state meetings as required
  • Ensure activities are focused on special health care populations as identified in the MOU
  • Identify gaps throughout the County and Alliance Catchment areas 
  • Provide oversight of case record reviews required by the Quality Management department
  • Participate in all related management and clinical team meetings as required
  • Develop and/or assist in the development of policies and procedures pertaining to the implementation and sustainability of the School Based Team and Alliance Health service area
  • Analyze and monitor community capacity for service needs, service gaps, and the implementation of evidence based/best practices 
  • Oversee the implementation of a system-wide approach to improving the quality and accessibility of services and supports for high-risk citizens throughout the catchment area
  • Partner with community stakeholders to assess opportunities and barriers and achieve a seamless and coordinated service delivery system

Provider Customer Service

  • Maintain working relationships with providers, community agencies, professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other Alliance Departments to meet consumer and agencies goals 

Support Continuous Quality Improvement 

  • Make recommendations to improve department procedures and increase operational efficiency
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities for enhancements in service utilization and implementation throughout Alliance

Travel 

  • Travel between Alliance offices, attending meetings on behalf of Alliance, participating in Alliance sponsored events, etc may be required
  • Travel to meet with members, providers, stakeholders, attend court hearings etc. is required

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services and three (3) years post degree experience with at least two (2) years of applicable experience with the population served, including experience with case management. 

Current Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC); Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA); Licensed Psychologist (LP); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • High level of diplomacy and discretion is required to effectively negotiate and resolve issues with minimal assistance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, highly effective communication ability, and the ability to make prompt independent decisions based upon relevant facts
  • Problem solving, negotiation, arbitration, and conflict resolution skills to balance the needs of both internal and external members and stakeholders
  • Understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (current version) and have considerable knowledge of the MH/SUD/IDD service array
  • Knowledge in the implementation of the 1915 (b/c) waivers and national accreditation is essential
  • Detail-oriented, able to organize extensive amounts of clinical data, multiple tasks and priorities, and to effectively manage projects from start to finish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, outlook, etc)
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal Laws, including Substance Abuse and HIPAA Privacy Laws 

Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background and MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee's start date. 

Salary Range

$77,868 to $99,282/Annual 

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
