We seek a dynamic Sr. Director of Inventory Planning to join our Global Supply Chain Planning team to optimize our global operations, including all Operating Units (OUs), regions, and manufacturing locations. This role is essential in ensuring our inventory management processes are proactive, standardized, and innovative, ultimately supporting Medtronic's mission to improve healthcare worldwide.

As the Sr. Director-Inventory Management, you will:

  • Lead inventory optimization and execution across Medtronic, including all Operating Units (OUs), regions, and manufacturing locations for finished goods, field inventory, raw materials, and WIP.
  • Lead waste (SOGL) reduction execution across Medtronic, including all Operating Units (OUs), regions, and manufacturing locations.
  • Define and deploy standard processes, technology, KPIs, and methodology for proactive inventory management.
  • Define standard processes for proactive Field (consignment and trunk stock) inventory management and partner with Order Operations and Operating Units to deploy.
  • Partner with Operating Unit (OU) Integrated Business Planning (IBP) leaders to support business decisions and drive improved inventory performance.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with finance on targets, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), reporting for OU's, and Operations.
  • Oversee the monthly safety stock review process within Blue Yonder.
  • Standard use of Multi Echelon Inventory Management (MEIO) across Medtronic for end-to-end supply chain inventory management for Operating Units, Regions, Manufacturing sites, Contract Management, and Suppliers.
  • Lead global design of Inventory Management Processes, including Finished Goods, Raw Materials, WIP, and Field Inventory.
  • Design process to define optimal inventory and support OUs, Regions, and Manufacturing Locations in achieving or overdelivering on those targets.
  • Design and deploy standardized key metrics and analytical insights to drive proactive inventory management and consistent year-on-year improved performance.
  • Develop and improve training materials and knowledge management approaches to enable best-in-class inventory management across multiple functions.
  • Develop talent strategies and mentor, lead, and coach management teams to support strategic objectives.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 15 years of relevant supply chain experience with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years prior relevant supply chain experience, including 10+ years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-department project teams and manage across multiple functions.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience in a structured business process (e.g. SIOP, S&OP, IBP) strongly preferred
  • Experience strategizing and implementing inventory management processes within a large organization
  • Proven ability to interact and effectively communicate with Executive management and all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience in process definition and implementation
  • Global change management experience across geography, functions, and organization levels.
  • Experience with an ERP system and Advanced Planning systems such as Blue Yonder
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions.
  • 10 plus years of proven success leading a team of individuals in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proven capability to drive results.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$205,600.00 - $308,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
