Unit Research Administrator (Finance)



Morsani College of Medicine's (MCOM) research proposals, awards and expenditures have increased substantially over the past five years. MCOM also continues to recruit new, highly-funded investigators aggressively in addition to supporting our younger faculty to pursue additional research. It is imperative for these faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students to have access to knowledgeable research administrators who can provide quality customer service while keeping the University compliant.

The Unit Research Administrator (URA) will be tasked with providing pre-award research administration support to the MCOM Department of Molecular Medicine. It is expected that the URA will coordinate some complex research proposals within the MCOM Department of Molecular Medicine as well as provide support to the designated research office. Additionally, the URA will be tasked with providing administrative support to the Caregiver Education mission at the Byrd Alzheimer's Institute.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional administrative experience; or a Master's degree. Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with preparing grant proposals. Experience in managing grants. Knowledge of federal funding. Knowledge of Uniform Guidance. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to develop budgets and analyze financial information.

Duties will include conveying proposal guidelines and assisting in preparing grant applications and internal funding proposal forms. The incumbent will review applications for format and completeness, coordinate subcontracts, and ensure adherence to all USF and sponsor guidelines.

Develop grants budgets, including projects with one or more subcontracts/collaborators. Reviews award budgets and expenditures for compliance with grant terms and unit guidelines. Responsibilities may include processing purchase orders, reconciling p-card charges, and other fiscal tasks as needed.

Provide administrative support to caregiver education mission at the Byrd Institute. Responsibilities may include event planning and promotion and providing fiscal support.

Reporting: This position will assist in tracking and reporting MCOM awards, proposals, and publications. Keeps statistics on unit research activities. Tracks Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol end dates for researchers to ensure continuity. Apply
