Parent Coordinator (Personal Services)



LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2010 with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on-site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. We currently occupy the site of the historic Parker High School and the former Greenville County Fine Arts Center.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The (bilingual) Parent Coordinator is essentially a liaison between families and the school, building relationships between families, teachers, and the community to improve school success by reducing language barriers and increasing communication.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties
? Increase communication by coordinating phone calls, letters, or home visits.
? Co-create ways to increase face-to-face meetings.
? Co-plan, facilitate & execute parent events on both campuses.
? Co-create, translate, distribute, and collect parent/teacher/scholar surveys.
? Assist with academic programs to increase scholar achievement.
? Collaborate with the school site and Title I department personnel to reach Federal & school goals.
? Develop an inviting environment to educate and supply relevant resources for parents.
? Assist community members in combining local & federal funding sources to meet needs.
? Submit all event documentation promptly.
? Attend all parent events sponsored by Title I.
? Translate/ interpret written/verbal information provided for parents

Qualifications
? Spanish Fluency strongly preferred
? Bachelor's degree, required
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive suites

Work Schedule
This position operates on the 240-day schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.

? Position might require travel.
? Periodic participation in activities to support Legacy Early College is required.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that the employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
