Water Regional Manager (Finance)



The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is seeking a Water Regional Manager to lead our Water practice in the North Texas region, based in Plano or Dallas, TX. This role is designed for a technical expert in water treatment (or related water/wastewater specialties) who is also ready to drive business development, mentor staff, and expand our presence in the region. You will combine your technical depth with leadership and client engagement to help shape the future of our Water team.

Your Role:

  • Provide leadership for Tetra Tech's North Texas Water practice while also serving as a technical subject matter expert in water treatment (or other water/wastewater infrastructure).
  • Manage, mentor, and develop project managers and technical staff, building a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • Lead the delivery of strategic and technically challenging projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships across municipalities, utilities, and regional partners, while identifying and securing new opportunities.
  • Partner with operations leadership on planning, contract negotiations, and financial performance.
  • Contribute technical expertise to proposals, client presentations, and industry conferences, strengthening Tetra Tech's visibility and reputation.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to support regional growth.
  • Oversee project performance across the portfolio, balancing client satisfaction, technical excellence, and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related Engineering field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering, with a strong technical background in water treatment (membranes, PFAS, desalination, advanced treatment) or related water infrastructure.
  • Proven success in managing large, complex projects as a technical leader and project manager.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring staff and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong track record in client development and proposal leadership, with experience securing and executing profitable projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical and business presentations.
  • Ability to balance technical contributions with regional leadership and business development responsibilities.
