Neuroscience Operations Manager (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Neuroscience Operations Manager FULL-TIME, to join our team.

Under the direction of the Service Line Administrator, and in collaboration with service line clinical operations leadership, Florida Neuroscience Chairs and NCSC leadership, advances the strategic and business planning objectives and priorities of the Neuroscience service line for the Florida Division. Collaborates with Strategy and Business Development, Finance, Marketing and other key stakeholders to assess and analyze programs and services which expand the scope and geographic reach of the Neuroscience service line.

The position is responsible for the following:

  • Supports the Service Line Administrator by assisting in business analysis and data gathering related to new or expanded service line programs, services, research and clinical performance; works closely with Strategy and Business Development, Finance and Marketing to prepare gate proposals for review and consideration by Florida executive management.
  • In collaboration with the Neuroscience Service Line Administrator and ORL, JAX and PNS neurosciences service line leadership, assists and supports local administrative and clinical leaders to identify and develop annual capital and operating needs and budgets. Helps develop productivity goals (budgeted wRVUs by provider, monthly spreads, clinic visits, surgical case projections and minutes, etc.) with local site leaders.
  • Develops key productivity, operational, financial, and patient engagement metrics (including but not limited to wRVU production, office and consult volumes, surgical cases and minutes, charges, payments and reimbursement percentages, patient engagement, quality & service metrics). Collaborates with site administrative and physician leaders to identify, develop, and implement appropriate countermeasures to optimize performance.
  • Monitors and reports on the above metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis; presents summaries at Triad and Chairs meetings; keeps service line clinical and administrative leadership updated on issues impacting operating, financial and patient engagement performance, recommending and helping develop countermeasures as appropriate.
  • Actively participates in cross-campus collaborative efforts aimed at service line standardization, integration, and overall service line margin enhancement; identifies and recommends standardization, revenue enhancement and expense reduction measures across practice sites that can streamline patient intake and throughput, improve cross-campus integration and operating margins across the FL Division.
  • Collaborates with Service Line Administrator, Clinical Revenue Integrity & Business Operations, NCH Clinical Documentation Specialist, and Finance, monitors, identifies trends and reports performance on charge capture and delays, denial management, chart closure (including clinical documentation) and develops and helps implement required countermeasures to optimize financial performance.
  • Assists in the development and rollout of new productivity and management tools aimed at improving provider productivity and service line efficiency; ensures end user training as part of implementation of these programs.
  • Promotes patient- and family-centric customer service and all aspects of Nemours True North metrics, working collaboratively with chairs and chiefs, statewide administrative leaders, clinical nurse managers and other members of the service line's management team to identify goals, trends and, where necessary, countermeasures aimed at achieving targets.
  • Collaborates with site administrative leaders, Chairs, Service Line IS Clinical App Associate Analyst and Executive Assistants to enhance and optimize patient access by assisting with clinical template management tasks.
  • Collaborates with Executive Assistants to support new provider onboarding; ensures providers are fully oriented to required training and task completion in order to ensure maximum productivity and reimbursement for the services they provide (clinical and surgical).

Job Requirements
  • Baccalaureate (up to 3-4 years of formal training/education beyond high school; e.g. Bachelor's Degree)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience required.
  • Relevant experience in presenting written and oral materials, interaction with medical leadership, Administration and /or self-directed project completion.
  • Demonstrated record of progressively responsible administrative experience in healthcare, preferably pediatric or specialty related.
  • Previous clinical work in Neurosciences is preferred.
  • Proven track record working collaboratively with physician and administrative leadership.
  • Demonstrated success applying performance improvement methodologies and project team facilitation. Experience in healthcare management preferred.
