Sr Advanced R&D Engr/Scientist (Finance)



As a Sr Advanced R&D Engr/Scientist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for driving innovation and developing cutting-edge technologies that align with our strategic priorities. Your work will contribute to the development of high-performance mechanical systems and components that enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of aerospace operations.

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,000 - $165,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

You will report directly to our Director, R&D and you'll work out of our Des Plaines, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience leading many research and development projects within a technology, chemical, or manufacturing environment
  • Mastery background in areas such as materials science, electronics, sensors, controls, or related fields
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and project management

  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, development, and testing of innovative solutions
  • Mentor and guide a team of R&D engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and methodologies
  • Conduct research to generate intellectual property (IP) and contribute to patent applications
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for their applicability to current and future projects
  • Conduct technology assessments to inform strategic decisionmaking
  • Support the transfer of technology from R&D to manufacturing or production teams
  • Identify and assess technical and projectrelated risks
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
