Parts Technician
POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Heavy Equipment Parts Technician to join our dealership team. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and distributing parts for a variety of types of heavy equipment such as street sweepers, industrial vacuum trucks, high-pressure water blasters, and other machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal service team members and external customers. This position reports to the Parts Manager.

ABOUT YOU:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of heavy equipment brands and components
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as parts manuals
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Basic mathematical skills
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must have a forklift license or ability to obtain
Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in heavy equipment, construction or automotive parts and/or service environment
- Experience using an ERP or Inventory Management program
- Experience working with heavy equipment parts preferred
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist customers and service department in identifying and locating required parts
- Research and order parts using OEM catalogs, databases, and company inventory systems
- Provide pricing, availability, and delivery information to customers
- Receive, inspect, and shelve incoming parts shipments
- Maintain a clean and organized parts department
- Maintain communication with Shipping/Receiving, suppliers and customers to ensure efficiency within the parts department
- Provide and maintain accurate back-order reports
- Promote parts campaigns when interacting with external customers
- Participate in required inventory cycle counts and provide back-up support to other department employees as required
- Participate in training to remain up to date on products represented by the company and new/revised protocols
- Other duties as assigned by manager
