Finisher II (Manufacturing)



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all cranes and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift. 

  • Utilize proper packaging techniques, according to the cleaning and packaging specifications.
  • Marking or applying proper identification to complete products, prior to shipping. 
  • Distribution of completed products to stock, or loading products for transport. 
  • Inspection of finalized products for visual defects.
  • Completion of all applicable paperwork, relative to this position.
  • The safe use of all power and hand tools used in the fabrication of pallets and other packaging assemblies
  • Able to understand and preform banding and palletizing all product before shipment. 
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.  Also successfully complete any training, safety program relating to the operation of the equipment. 
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and finishing specifications as they relate to finishing products. 
  • This job may require handling of moving of hazardous waste.
  • Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training.  Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
  • IMMEDIATELY notify Supervisor/Manager, Human Resources, Legal (email:  compliance@samuel.com) or the Samuel Ethics Alert Hotline of known or suspected 
  • unauthorized disclosure, release of or access to protected ITAR content. 

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

  • Pneumatic tools, as provided by the company
    • Pneumatic Nail gun, rivet gun
  • All applicable hand tools
  • Other tools used
    • Table saw, electric chain saw, electric and mechanical scales, all banding tools.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blue prints.
  • Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS of WORK: 

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 40 hours, Monday through Friday; to be determined by each division. Standard hour requirement is four (4) – ten (10) hour shifts.  Overtime hours may be required beyond standard schedule.
  • Travel is not required.

The Finisher II shall have the responsibility of following all specific quality instructions and reporting all non – conforming material or conflicting instructions to the quality assurance department. 

Must prove that employee can meet the essential duties of the job within 90 days by completing employee training checklist F-HR- 720-02-03-09.
