Learning & Devt Facilitator (Finance)



The Learning and Development Facilitator (LDF) is primarily responsible for developing and implementing a nationally certified peer tutor training and peer mentor training curriculum. Learning opportunities are focused on developing effective peer tutors and student leaders, while emphasizing professional development and employability skills that will transfer into future academic and career goals. The LDF also develops, delivers, and maintains the Academic Peer Mentoring training program and supports peer leader observations and evaluations. As the primary contact on behalf of the ASC for learning workshops, programming and outreach, the LDF works directly with various campus partners to support students in all phases of their academic journey. The LDF may be directed to teach special topics courses on academic and intellectual wellness as needed. The position also supports the Office of Undergraduate Studies and university-wide initiatives connected to Florida Board of Governors performance-based metrics on academic progress rate, transfer retention, and graduation rates. Additionally, the LDF works in partnership with faculty and staff to create learning experiences in support of retention and persistence efforts prioritizing accessibility, opportunity, and intellectual wellness.Minimum Qualifications
  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Adult Education or equivalent with one year of experience in a professional training position; or a Master's degree in the same field. Certain grants and programs may also have specific education and/or certification requirements specific to the subject matter area of the program.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a field related to college student success.
  • Three years in college student success with at least one year specifically in college learning assistance.
  • CRLA certification and/or training experience.
  • Supplemental Instruction certification and/or training experience.

  • FLSB1310 Equivalency:
    4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
    6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

    • Maintain institutional compliance with College Learning and Reading Association (CRLA) certification programs.
    • Serve as the lead instructor and curriculum developer for all levels (1, 2, and 3) of CRLA-certified tutor training. Design and update instructional materials, including facilitator guides, learner handbooks, and assessment tools for undergraduate and graduate student tutors. Oversee the Academic Peer Mentoring program, including recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and ongoing development of peer mentors. Serve as the lead instructor for CRLA Peer Educator training and conduct peer leader observations and performance evaluations.
    • Develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and learning experiences for students, faculty, and staff. Collaborate with academic units and student support services to offer tailored programming that supports academic engagement, persistence, and intellectual wellness. Prioritize access, opportunity, and holistic student success. Implement targeted strategies to engage key student populations, including first-generation students, student athletes, and veterans, through partnerships with relevant campus offices.
    • Serve as lead instructor and content developer for special topics courses focused on academic and intellectual wellness. Integrate evidence-based practices and align course content with student development theory and retention goals.
    • Support university-wide retention and graduation initiatives, including those connected to the Florida Board of Governors' performance-based metrics. Contribute to strategic goals by aligning programming with institutional priorities such as academic progress rate, transfer student success, and degree completion.
    • Remain current on research and best practices in learning and development, academic support, and peer education. Integrate new findings into program design and staff development.
