Repair Technician (Full and Part-Time Seasonal) Winter 2025/26 (Manufacturing)



SUMMARY
Provide a full service repair shop to the customer by mounting and repairing ski and snowboard equipment, testing bindings, repairing rental equipment, and safety testing equipment for Grand Targhee employees. Provide information to guests about the Mountain and Base Area. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employees' job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. Prior repair shop experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides superior service to all customers --this includes guests and Grand Targhee employees.
2. Greets customers, determines their needs and sells services that will meet their needs.
3. Mount, repair, adjust and test bindings.
4. Tune and repair skis and snowboards.
5. Ensure our guests' safety by strict attention to detail and properly repair and adjust equipment.
6. Reduce the company's risk of litigation by paying strict attention to detail and proper risk management language.
7. Answer questions about ski/snowboard equipment.
8. Accept payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly and verifying any credit card transactions.
9. Balance the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and end of the work shift, following current policies and procedures.
10. Exceed Repair Shop goals and standards through integrity and teamwork.
11. Flexible working hours. Some job sharing may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests at all times.
2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
6. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be mechanically inclined. Previous repair shop work is preferred. Previous experience in dealing with the public, providing customer service, is desired. Previous cash handling experience is beneficial.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Binding Technician from Saloman, Marker, Rossignol, Tyrolia, Look, ESS, VAR

Assisting co-workers and other departments as needed. Maintaining a safe and pleasant work environment. Insuring the safety of guests and employees.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
