Deputy VP Operations - Veteran Affairs (Project Management)

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Deputy VP of Operations to join our Veteran Affairs Services team. You will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs. Reporting to the Senior Leader, this position supports the Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) contract in successful administration to include Regions 1-4, PreDischarge, and International requirements.  This position assists the Senior Vice President of Operations in leading the internal team in performance of the contract and providing communications through different modalities to external customers to include MDEO, Congressional Staff, Business Partners, Leidos Executives, and other approved entities. This position will oversee transition plans for technology improvements and business opportunities from the strategy phase to the operational phase. 

  • Role is remote with preference for candidates in eastern USA with ability to travel to the DC area as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists the SVP in overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, timeliness, and client- satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers
  • Responsible for the coordination of activities and functions on behalf of the Vice President, VA Services as well as interaction with and support of the various QTC Corporate Departments and Operational Divisions
  • Assists in the preparation of materials and execution of the VA Services Division's Business Rhythms, and action-item tracking
  • Prepares briefings and assists in preparations for customer/client meetings and attendance at Business Analysis Reviews (BARs), In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and Strategic and Operational Reviews (SOR).
  • Maintains appropriate shared material and collaboration sites, conducts analysis of performance metrics, and responds to data requests by QTC Executive Staff
  • Responsible for ad hoc projects in support of VA Operations and the Vice President's direct reports
  • Manage time and competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • A minimum of 14 years of experience with progressive operations management in the health care industry
  • 10 years' experience relevant to the contract requirements (e.g., large-scale program, encompassing multiple projects, with a total lifecycle budget and complexity comparable to the task order at hand)
  • If applicable, must be able to pass a federal background check and/or obtain and maintain additional clearances as specified by the contract (e.g., NACI, PIV, SMS, TMS). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience communicating with medical providers and understanding of medical terminology
  • Proven ability to lead program contracts in excess of  $1B+ revenue projection
