Personal Activity Attendant (part-time) (Healthcare)

We specialize in providing a safe and stimulating environment for seniors, including those living with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Our Life Enrichment team plays a key role in creating moments of joy, purpose, and connection.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and dependable Activity Attendant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in Alzheimer's and Dementia care who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of seniors. You will plan and facilitate daily activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate group and one-on-one activities tailored to residents with memory loss
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement with a person-centered approach
  • Assist in planning monthly activity calendars and special events
  • Support residents during outings, sensory stimulation programs, and music or art therapy
  • Document resident participation and progress
  • Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and other departments to promote whole-person wellness
  • Assist with the Adult Day Program
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director

Qualifications:

  • A year of geriatric experience is preferred
  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer's preferred
  • Previous activity programming experience in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and creativity are a must
  • Ability to work every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled
