Temporary Systems Planning 1 - GIS

Temp 6 - Starting Hourly Rate: $18.68

Work Schedule: This position will work up to 40 hours a week, for the full duration of the 10-month assignment

The GIS Intern reports to Infrastructure Data Asset Manager in the Systems Planning Unit at the City of Ann Arbor.

Nature of Work:  

Digitization, data entry and quality control of information from various water, sewer, and stormwater and other infrastructure sources into the City's GIS. Create maps and generate reports from the GIS, databases and spreadsheets.  

 Required Qualifications:  

  • GIS coursework or one year of experience with GIS software use.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience using Esri's ArcGIS suite of products including ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office products.  
  • Geography or related background.

Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements. The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
