Vice President, Enterprise Operational Resilience (Finance)

Your Team & Role

As a Vice President, Enterprise Resilience in the Chief Operations Office, you will help champion the evolution of our enterprise-wide resilience strategy. Collaborating with Prudential's functional areas, business units, corporate functions, and other control functions, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our Operational Resilience program.

This team is dedicated to implementing a comprehensive governance structure, policies, and standards designed to enhance preparedness, adaptability, and responsiveness to disruptions. We focus on embedding Operational Resilience concepts into our Business Service framework, ensuring alignment with industry standards. Your contributions will safeguard critical business services, protect stakeholders, and maintain regulatory compliance, positioning the organization to adapt to challenges such as technology failures, third-party risks, natural disasters, or other crises.

The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking mindset and deep expertise in Operational Resilience, disaster recovery, risk assessment, and strategic planning, ensuring resilience is integral to all facets of business operations, technology, and corporate functions.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Drive the enterprise-wide Operational Resilience program, ensuring an integrated, proactive approach to protecting critical business services, minimizing impact, and enabling swift adaptability to disruptions.
  • Oversee the execution of resilience assessments, recovery strategy development, and testing protocols, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs, technology landscapes, and risk profiles.
  • Lead initiatives that embed Operational Resilience across services, processes, and systems, fostering a culture of resilience throughout the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to refine and continuously improve resilience frameworks and strategies, adapting to changes in the external and internal environment.
  • Establish and manage governance structures to oversee business continuity and resilience program performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee resilience testing, scenario analysis, and lessons-learned frameworks that complement business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with all business units, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Technology and Third-Party risk teams to ensure cross-functional integration and resilience.
  • Champion a resilience-driven culture by providing training, awareness, and engagement programs across all levels of the organization.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, or a related field.
  • Experience specifically in Operational Resilience, with deep exposure to resilience frameworks, scenario testing, and organizational risk adaptation.
  • Expertise in developing, implementing, and evolving operational resilience programs that go beyond traditional business continuity-integrating recovery, adaptation, and transformation of critical business services.
  • Proven ability to anticipate potential threats, identify vulnerabilities, and design strategies that ensure the ongoing delivery of essential operations through disruption.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience driving cross-functional initiatives that embed resilience into organizational culture, processes, and technology platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory expectations and industry standards for operational resilience in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence with comfort and ability working between organizational structures to effect significant change, self-starter comfortable working independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to synthesize complex information, conduct scenario analyses, and deliver actionable resilience insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and educate stakeholders at all levels on the principles and practices of operational resilience
  • A self-starter mindset, comfortable operating independently and collaboratively to drive a culture of continuous improvement and agile response to emerging risks.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $200,000.00 to $270,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
