Senior Commercial Credit Analyst (Finance)
Overview
Under the direction of the Commercial Credit Manager, the Senior Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data and making recommendations to determine credit quality of existing and prospective business members. The analyst proactively works with Commercial Relationship Managers to manage member business loan portfolios for timely reviews, renewals, and compliance with Borrowing Base Certificates, financial document reporting and loan covenant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Serves as underwriter for new loan originations, renewals and reviews by assessing the creditworthiness of business members by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
• Assists the Commercial Relationship Managers with portfolio management, including covenant tracking and financial reporting.
• Monitor and timely review of existing members credit profiles to identify any changes in risk.
• Recommends change in risk rating assessments.
• Upload credit files in SMB's electronic document storage software.
• Maintain accurate records of credit analysis and business member interactions.
• Recommend credit limits and terms for new and existing clients based on analysis.
• Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.
• Represent the credit union at community events and volunteer opportunities.
• Serves as a mentor to the Commercial Credit Analyst.

Physical Demands
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional lifting of office supplies, up to 15 pounds.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Seven years of experience in commercial lending financial analysis, corporate and personal financial statements to determine credit quality.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and industry-specific metrics.
• Knowledge of Federal, NCUA and State of NH banking regulations.
• Understanding of credit enhancements programs (i.e. SBA, NHBFA and CDFI).
• Certification as a Credit Analyst (CCA) or related certification is a plus.
